Dr. Seth Shostak is the Senior Astronomer at the SETI Institute. He has an undergraduate degree in physics from Princeton University, and a doctorate in astronomy from Cal Tech. For much of his career, Seth’s conducted radio astronomy research on galaxies…and he’s been a prolific science communicator! He’s written over four hundred popular magazine, newspaper, and Web articles on various topics in astronomy, technology, film, and television. He regularly lectures around the Bay Area, and for six years was a Distinguished Speaker for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Every week he hosts the science radio show, “Big Picture Science,” and his most recent book is Confessions of an Alien Hunter: A Scientist’s Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence.
